products and the chair.

BLK GLO is a hair app for Black women. Swipe a feed of real looks, save the ones you want, and get the two things a screenshot never gives you — what the style is actually called, and who near you can do it.

How it works

Swipe. Save. Slay.

  1. 1

    Swipe

A feed of real hair looks — braids, twists, locs, natural, straightened, color, updos, wigs. Right to save, left to skip.

  2. 2

    Save

Everything you keep lands in Saved, sorted into boards, with its breakdown, its tutorial and products for the style.

  3. 3

    Slay

Shop products for the style, or book a stylist who can do it. Then track what you own and when to wash.

Find a stylist

8,162 hair businesses, across 1610 cities

In the app, search by city and by what you want done — braids, twists, locs, natural, straightened, color, updos, wigs. Where a stylist has claimed their listing you can request a booking and hold the slot with a deposit. Everywhere else you get their real phone number and website.

Salons that have not joined BLK GLO yet are marked unclaimed until the owner claims the listing. An unclaimed business has no relationship with BLK GLO.

Booking, in four steps

  1. 1Pick a service and a time that works for you.
  2. 2Put down a 30% deposit. Your spot is held while you pay.
  3. 3Your stylist confirms the appointment.
  4. 4Plans change? You see the cancellation policy before you pay, and the app tells you when your refund goes through.
