The photo does not tell you what the style is actually called, what it costs, how long you will sit for it, what is in the products, or who near you can do it. So the look sits in a camera roll with four hundred others and nothing happens.
BLK GLO is built to finish that sentence. You swipe a feed of real hair looks and save the ones you want. Each saved look carries its breakdown, its tutorial, and products for the style — and from there you can check a label against your own hair, keep a shelf of what you own, set the wash-day reminder your style actually needs, and find the chair that can do it.
Built for textured hair
A braid-out, a silk press and knotless braids are three different commitments of time, money and upkeep, and an app that treats them as interchangeable pictures is no use to anybody. BLK GLO is built around what the style actually costs you: the hours in the chair, the wash cadence, the takedown week, the products that suit how you wear it.
That focus is why the seven tools can be specific instead of generic — an ingredient checker that knows a heavy sealing oil is right for braids and wrong for a wash-and-go can only exist in an app that knows which one you are wearing.
A stylist near you, in every state
8,162 hair businesses are in the app’s directory, so you can find someone near you from day one. A business that has not joined BLK GLO is marked unclaimed until its owner claims it; you still get its phone number and website.
We never present a salon as a partner when it is not one, and the Black-owned badge only appears when the owner tells us. Listing data includes Overture Maps (CDLA-Permissive-2.0).
Who is behind it
BLK GLO is built by one person, not a committee — which is why it does one thing and tries to do it properly. Write to the support address and it reaches someone who can actually change the product.
