The breakdown

  • Rope Twists
  • Waist Length
  • Centre Part

How it is done

  1. 10:27Start on washed, blow-dried hair so it is stretched and easier to twist.
  2. 20:27Make a vertical part, then small diagonal parts off it to create neat box sections.
  3. 31:26Smooth a braid-and-twist gel onto each section from root to tip.
  4. 41:54Split the natural hair in the section into two pieces.
  5. 52:53Place the centre of a piece of pre-stretched, feathered braiding hair at the root between your two natural pieces.
  6. 63:21Twist each leg (braiding hair plus natural hair) clockwise separately so the extension hooks on.
  7. 76:42Then twist the two legs around each other counter-clockwise — the opposite way — all the way down.
  8. 84:19Twist to the very ends; feathered ends keep the twists from unravelling.
  9. 95:14Smooth each finished twist with your hands and more gel so everything flows one way.
